Wesley Ridge Loop – Cameron Lake – 18km

Manzanita

The day started off rainy so we decided to leave a little later in the morning hoping it would clear up some ( or at least stop pouring rain).

Steve’s Bench
Forever Tuesday

Followed the old railway track to the trail head, then climb straight up for a km to reach the first look-out. Amazing view over Cameron Lake with a couple of benches to kick back and enjoy the view.

View of Nanoose
Salish Sea
Mt Arrowsmith
Garter Snake

Off through the forest trail , our next view was on the other side of the ridge. Here we sat and took in the beauty of the Salish Sea and Mt Arrowsmith. Hearing Sarrie scream, I was able to capture a pic of our local Garter snake…

Cameron Lake
Not any closer

Following the trail to our next lookout of Cameron Lake. It was so windy and the drop offs were a wee bit hairy !

About 6 km we saw another trail leading off to a rock bluff, always ready to explore we came across this view of the wide open spaces !

Take me home

After 9 km of hiking through the awe inspiring trail, looking at how mother nature can blow down some massive trees ,we finally reached Mt Wesley, no views from there. The choice was to keep going onto Cathedral Grove and hitch hike or run back along the road . We decided to turn around and take the trail out. The trail won….it always does.

Cream Lake – Strathcona Park BC – July 2019

Cream Lake

Having backpacked into Cream Lake in 2016 , with the weather overcast and then torrential rain… hence no view of the surrounding mountains… I was excited that I had hooked up with a group of adventurer’s that were game to do this hike in one day last year… 21km Out and Back – 9 hours. Elevation 1328 metres.

Mount Tom Taylor – Baby Bedwell Lake

At the trail head bright and early as we knew we had a long day of hiking ahead of us. First view was of Mt Tom Taylor from Baby Bedwell Lake.
